Targeted Funding addresses specific activities and development needs in a sector, specialism, and/or geographic area. They can be shaped in response to sectoral reviews, strategic planning or consultation with external partners. A full list of our Targeted Funds can be found in our Annual Plan.

Below are the main Targeted Funds with some form of open application.

CashBack for Creativity Programme

Supporting projects which provide access to high quality experiences in all art forms for young people (0-25 years) in communities where there is an identified and demonstrated need.

Dr Gavin Wallace Fellowship Host

The annual Dr Gavin Wallace Fellowship supports an organisation to host a writing fellowship – with the successful writer based in Scotland to develop their craft, and to produce a work of quality.

Made in Scotland Funding

Made in Scotland is a curated showcase promoting high quality music, theatre and dance to international promoters and audiences at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It also supports onward international touring.

Muriel Spark 100: Endless Different Ways Small Grants Fund

Endless Different Ways, the Muriel Spark Small Grants Fund, will offer small funding awards to individual writers, artists and groups who are looking to celebrate the work, contribution or legacy of Muriel Spark.

Place Programme

Creative Scotland’s Place Programme operates at a strategic level with local authorities and other partners and includes Place Partnerships and devolved funding for visual arts and crafts awards.

Screen Funding

Supporting emerging and established film and television talent to create distinctive and engaging work that promotes Scotland’s creativity.

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo – Youth Talent Development Fund

Pilot fund aimed at nurturing the ambition, enthusiasm and talent of exceptional young artists engaged in traditional music and dance - with a priority focus on piping, drumming, Highland dance and traditional fiddle playing.

Year of Young People Creative Traineeships

Marking the Year of Young People, these traineeships will give young people the opportunity to gain skills and experience that potential employers will value.

Youth Music Initiative Funding

Supporting high quality music making opportunities for young people aged 0 – 25 yrs.
